Governor General’s Foot Guards 150th Anniversary Logo Design Contest!

Your Regiment turns 150 on 7 June 2022, and planning for the celebrations has already been underway for over a year. This is a big one, and the plans to commemorate it are ambitious! In order to represent this momentous milestone, we need a novel and memorable logo to appear on all materials and at all events marking the anniversary over the next four years. It’s time to apply the creative and artistic talent of our Regimental Family to this mission! The GGFG 150th Anniversar

It is with great sadness that we wish to inform you of the passing of Natalie Meggison on August 12th, 2018. Looking For A Few Good Bloggers

Fellow Guardsmen, As you know the GGFG Regimental Association has recently transitioned the Guards Star to a digital format in an effort to make it more accessible in a digital age but also to make it easier to produce. Even if all you do is surf the Regimental web page or Facebook and re-post great material from either source, that would be amazing. If you're

Master Warrant Officer Dipen Mistry, appointed RCAF Public Duties Air Task Force Warrant Officer, (picture below) started his career in the GGFG joining the Ceremonial Guard in 1997. No wonder he looked so good on the march! MWO Mistry has r

    GGFG Hockey Champions

For the first time since 1987, the Foot Guards are hockey champions. From 6 to 8 April, the regimental team participated in the 45th Annual Sgt Rick Foldeak Memorial Invitational Hockey Tournament in Brockville. This event, hosted by the Brockville Rifles, honours the memory of one of their regimental NCOs who died in 1973. Primary Reserve units from across Ontario compete for top prize in the oldest military hockey tournament in Canada. The championship team consisted of mem

New Home of The Guards Star

Fellow Guardsmen, At the last meeting of the GGFG Regimental Association executive it was decided that the producing the Guards Star in its past format was proving cumbersome and was no longer the best best vehicle with which to communicate with our membership. With the email marketing capabilities of Member365, the tools of this website, and social media, we believe we can do better. Going forward we will be posting articles here on our association website's blog which has b
